The Grand Lake Nordic Center offers 1.5 miles trails to explore. They even have dog friendly trails! Make your way through the forest and open meadows on your snowshoes and then exchange them for cross-country skis at no additional cost. With low rental and trail fees, this is great winter activity for groups. Only a short drive to Grand Lake you’ll find noteworthy Nordic center that offers breathtaking views of the National Park and Forest. You’re highly likely to spot a moose on their trails!
Bundle up for their full moon night ski! Get your skiis or snowshoes and follow the tiki torches along the trails. They will lead you to a big bonfire where you can enjoy drinks and s'mores! They even have carriages to rent out to pull your kids along for the ride. We suggest taking a headlamp or flashlight for better visibility.
While you're there, be sure to check out the tubing hill. The Nordic Center provide tubes but your welcome to bring sleds along. It's one of our favorite free activities to do in the winter. Warm up after a day of playing in the snow and grab a bite to eat at the restaurant on-site.
